Well, we had some fun up my way earlier this morning about 3:00am. A tornado decided to role through the area after all the NWS tornado warnings had expired giving everyone a litte supprise. I was still awake at the time and heard the wind blowing hard outside but didn’t realize that there was a tornado only about 1/2 a mile to 2 miles away blowing trees down and ripping roofs off of buildings.
Here are some of the news sites pics and stories about it if anyone is interested.
Are Protection Plans Really Worth the Cost?
by Eric Bradshaw on Apr.28, 2008, under Apple, Computer Hardware, General Web
I just received an email from Apple letting me know that my 1 year warranty is just about up on my iMac. Of course in the email they are quick to make note that I can still get an AppleCare Protection plan for my computer at a nominal fee ($169 for the iMac). Are these plans really worth it? In the past these types of warranty plans have all seemed very limited in what types of things they would repair or replace for you. BestBuy sell these plans with most of there electronics and I have always shyed away from purchasing any of them. What do you think?

Playing WoW?
by Eric Bradshaw on Jan.02, 2008, under Console / PC games, General Web
Hi all!! Hope everyone had a nice New Years Eve / Day. For some reason for the past few days I have found myself drawn back to playing WoW (World of Warcraft). I hadn’t really had the urge to play in such a long time I found it kind of strange. I think playing that game comes in phases for me. I play till I get it out of my system for a while, quit, and then go back a few months later when I get bored of whatever FPS or Strategy game I have been playing. Has anyone else found this to be the case for you? I know some people are completely addicted to this game but for some reason it gets old to me after a while. I think maybe another reason I get drawn back in is that it is the best way to get in contact again with of some of my friends that are living here and there. So I guess some of the drawback is the online socialization part of playing. Oh well, was just thinking about this and figured I would post. Back to the daily grind

Have You Tried Hulu?
by Eric Bradshaw on Dec.28, 2007, under General Web
Well after about two months of waiting on the Hulu beta email list my name finally came up. Have you tried Hulu? If you have no idea what I am talking about don’t feel bad. Hulu is a new video on demand site launched jointly by NBC and Universal to provide television shows and other content from NBC, FOX, Bravo, Fuel TV, FX, SciFi, Style, Sundance, and Oxygen channels. Hulu also offers some select movies and of course random 30 second advertisements. Basically Hulu is NBC’s answer to providing content after pulling all of there shows off of Apple’s Itunes. So far what I have seen is nice but leaves no ability to take content with you on a portable device. It is still in beta so that may change. For those of you who do not want to wait on this email beta list you can always try the mirror site OpenHulu. OpenHulu is in no way affiliated with Hulu but offers much of the same content.
Over Christmas Hulu sent some websites invites to pass out to there readers. Here are a few you can try.
Give Hulu or even OpenHulu a try and let me know what you think!
